Homemade Desserts with Tradition


The love for sweet creations at Guggital began with senior chef Franz Elsener, a trained pastry chef who laid the foundation for our dessert culture.


To this day, our dessert menu features traditional sweets based on his original recipes. Classics include cassata, Linzer torte and the famous Zug iced coffee.


This passion for desserts has always been passed on at Guggital. Some years ago, it led to a special creation by Satha Satchithanantham: the Zug cherry ice cream cake. This dessert quickly became very popular and is now a firm part of our dessert classics.


Homemade ice cream also holds a special place with us. In earlier days, it was still hand-stirred in a brine bath, and many of today’s recipes are still based on Franz Elsener’s original foundations, complemented by refined seasonal creations.

It is important to us that everyone can enjoy dessert.


That is why our menu regularly includes vegan creations – prepared with the same care and attention as our classic specialties.


Our dessert menu is continuously enriched with creative, seasonal ideas. You will always find something new and tempting to delight your palate.
