Homemade desserts from tradition
The love of sweet delicacies in the Guggital began with senior boss Franz Elsener, a trained confectioner, who laid the foundation for our exquisite dessert culture.
Even today, our dessert menu still features traditional sweets that go back to his original recipes. The classics include Cassata , Linzertorte and the famous Zug iced coffee .
The passion for desserts has always been passed down in the Guggital. This is how Satha Satchithanantham's ingenious creation came about a few years ago: the Zuger Kirsch ice cream cake . This dessert immediately became very popular and has now become an integral part of our dessert classics.
Homemade ice cream, which used to be stirred by hand in the saltwater bath, is also very important to us. Many of our ice cream recipes are still based on Franz Elsener's basic recipes and are supplemented with fine creations depending on the season.
Our dessert menu is regularly enriched with wonderfully creative, seasonal desserts. You will always find something new and tempting to delight your taste buds.

Of course, we have a really nice cherry creation for you made from Black Forest sponge cake, cherries, Zuger Kirsch, vanilla ice cream and chocolate shavings.
We like to combine our fine elderflower sorbet with fine sparkling champagne.
And what would a dessert menu be without Swiss strawberries? We serve you a classic Coupe Romanoff
